"How Well Do You Know Me" Quiz
the latest fad on Facebook is the “How Well Do You Know Me” Quiz, and I it seems that results for many people have been less than satisfying. I am a person who adores red- from clothes to accessories, I love English but I wasn't given the opportunity to pursue Literature in secondary school, my Chinese isn't that fantastic but I always compose chinese songs, I love singing more than anything else, but I do not have the chance to show my love. Like what I've learnt during my Culture module back in Year 2, people usually form an impression after seeing one side of a person, but yet every individual has many facades within.
How many of us actually know what our friends’ dreams are? their basic philosophy of life, values, goals, political/religious views, or even strengths and weakness? Or how about down to the simple things such as knowing what their favorite food, colours and habits are? These require time spent with the person, sensitivity to their actions and little observations to develop. Do we have more friends, activity partners, or does it even matter at all?
I feel that with technology such as Facebook and Friendster, a gap has been bridged between face to face communication, and it's getting harder to build up a meaningful relationship between my friends and myself, I don't think I actually need a Facebook quiz to tell my friends that my favourite song is Zhen Shi by Zhang Hui Mei and that my favourite TV show is Perfect Cut. Just by spending more quality time with our friends instead of holing up in front of the computer would do the trick wouldn't it? Time remains at 24 hours a day, but why is it that we're finding it harder to allocate a little time for friends, family, and even a little time to ourselves?
