Life's short... Shouldn't we be enjoying what life has gotta give to its fullest and not let ourselves down when its time to be six feet under?? haha.. kinda soap opera, I know... =P I have been kinda bored with what Singapore has in store for me.. probably because the country is so small that I've dabbled in most things I can be found doing in the country... until recently, just when I thought dining n pubbing has become boring as it is almost the standard wherever I go, I found the beauty in alfresco dining and pubbing in sub urban areas, away from the hustle and bustle of life and city lights... I've read reviews on the 3 I'm posting below, and their ratings are rather positive... heard about it from friends and relatives too.. I'd want to go try it for myself one of these days eh.. but it's pretty inaccessible though.. a bit difficult to go there without car :( sad case for me? anyone wanna bring me to the following places? haha!!!
(1) Sunset Grill and Pub
140B Piccadilly Seletar Airbase S(797754) Tel: 64820244 Being in the middle of a former army base, Sunset Grill is really peaceful and really makes one feel that they are far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The rustic old world charm of this place is unspoilt by Jerry (the owner)who set up the place with very plain tables and plastic stools! All under the branches of a very old tree.
(2) Klee
5B Portsdown Road #01-04 Wessex Estate
Klee is a breath of fresh air in the crowded Singapore drinks space. Its off beat location, fabulous interior and serves superb original drinks. Klee is not all drinks and alcohol, they do light snacks as well such as bbq stingray fin. To sum up, go there for a drink yourself, because drinking is believing.
(3) Verve
7 Lock Road, Ground floor Gillman Village Tel: 64733655
The setting is quite nice. Alfresco dining both under an open sky with lots of greenery surrounding. Inside dining within a modern hip interior. It certainly feels like a hidden gem.
